The Italian Family Satisfaction in the Intensive Care Unit Questionnaire: A Psychometric Evaluation Using the Rasch Model

Quality measurement of the intensive care unit (ICU) should include families’ perspectives, their satisfaction with process and outcomes, evaluation actions to improve psychological health wellbeing. The current study was designed validate Italian version Family Satisfaction in Intensive Care Unit (FS-ICU) using Rasch model. Results included reliability separation for items persons, item fit statistics, unidimensionality, characteristic curve. conducted between August 2022 February 2023. A total 108 family members (mean age 54.9 years) completed FS-ICU questionnaire. instrument had a moderate discrimination ability only five (#21, #23, #10, #22, #24) exhibited misfit. dimension explained 52.1% variance data, while unexplained first contrast is 7.2%, which indicates possible second dimension. shown be beneficial as an assessment member ICU, despite some flaws that need further addressed scale.
